¿El Brit pop ha muerto? Las mejores bandas indies de los 90

Pues para muchos sí, pero para otros, sigue más vivo que nunca en nuestras menorias y en el presente.

Como es de suponer, la época dorada del Brit Pop fueron los 90'.

Hablaremos entonces de las 10 bandas y los 10 álbumes que marcaron historia y que a mi también me han marcado musicalmente, ya que tengo todos estos álbumes y también he visto a todas estas bandas en directo, y a alguna más de una vez.

1. Depeche Mode - Violator
2. Primal Scream- Screamadelica
3. Massive Attack- Blue lines
4. Blur- Parklife
5. Oasis- Definitely maybe
6. Prodigy- Music for the Jilted Generation
7. Porstishead- Dummy
8. Radiohead- OK Computer
9. The Verve- Urban Hymns
10. Pulp- Different class

Curiosamente la mayoría siguen en activo, con más o menos intensidad, pero han sabido hacerse un hueco, a pesar de toda la música nueva que va pisando fuerte y achuchandolos para quitarles su trono. Siguen como es el caso de Depeche Mode, Primal Scream, Oasis, y Radiohead. Otros que se separaron como es el caso de The Verve se reunen pronto. A los Prodigy les perdí la pista. Pulp se separó, pero Jarvis sigue en solitario. Como es el caso de Damon Alban de Blur que recientemente he oído que ya va a ser difícil que vuelvan a reunirse, por desinteres de algun miembro de la banda. Damon está con proyectos diferentes con Gorillaz y con The Good, the Bad and the Queen. Massive Attack también siguen y como no POSTISHEAD y su ansioso regreso y su cada vez más cercana visita al Primavedra Sound que nos tiene a todos ansiosos por volver a reencontrarnos con ellos, con sus temas de siempre, y con los nuevos. O sino RADIOHEAD y su paso por España con el álbum "In rainbows" del que tanto se ha hablado y se hablará.

Seguro que me he dejado bandas sin nombrar como es el caso de Suede, The Chemical Brothers, Tricky, Travis, Sterephonics, ....y muchas más, pero entonces la lista sería interminable.

Según Myspace y NME estas serán las bandas que más darán de que hablar en el 2008

Según he leído recientemente la revista NME publicó el pasado 15 de febrero un noticia sobre un estudio que había hecho myspace que había predecido cuales iban a ser las bandas que más iban a pegar en este año en el que estamos analizando los usuarios registrados en myspace.

Ahora los modernos, ya no se hacen llamar indies sino Grindies!

Pues estaremos al tanto de estas bandas, pero por lo que se ve se va a llevar mucho el techno, electro, o todo los estilos nuevos que están saliendo. La verdad es que no se de donde habrán sacado esos valores para analizar esto, pero parece ser que por la manera que la gente se conoecta,los interesesen las modas o en las tendencias musicales, en la cultura, etc.

Pues el estudio lo ha hecho myspace y lo ha publicado la revista, para los que piensen que la revista NME apesta...pero luego bien que la gente habla de sus bandas, y sobre todo pincha sus temas....

Pues la banda que a mi más me gusta es Joe Lean And The Jing Jang Jong, Dead Disco y Make a Model. Se ve que todavía no me he hecho Grindie, creo que me queda bastante.

""Myspace have attempted to predict the acts, genres and scenes which they believe will be big this year by analysing what their users have been up to.

The social networking site has trawled through facts and figures from its network coming up with a list of what they think will be hot in 2008.

The site's study, Myspace08, has highlighted Toystep/Joystick Jungle, Bassline, Tape Music, Acousmatic, IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) and Screamo as genres set to be most popular this year.

The survey also suggests that "new ravers" and "new romantics" are mixing to create a new scene of Super Super Kids, while fans of grime and indie are apparently turning into Grindies.

Dressing as twins with your friends is also another trend that's going to be big, dubbing it "Double Dressers".

Artist-wise Shockwaves NME Awards Tour band Joe Lean and the Jing Jang Jong (pictured) are tipped as one of the top ten new bands for 2008. The full list of acts predicted to make it big are:

Explaining how the survey was constructed Dom Cook, Myspace's Head Of Music told NME.COM: "With 110m unique users worldwide, Myspace is the largest global social destination connecting artists and fans together like never before. The Myspace08 report examines the way we connect people, content and culture and identifies some interesting musical trends and genres that we'll be watching out for in 2008."
