DEFINICION DE INDIE SEGÚN INCICLOPEDIA

Nota: No debe confundirse con indy, no tienen nada que ver ¿o sí?

Indie es, entre otras cosas que van desde un tipo de asfalto a la penúltima obra de Miguel de Cervantes sobre dicho caballero, un subgénero musical. Está más caracterizado por sus fans que por el estilo musical en sí, ya que nunca se ha llegado a conclusiones sólidas sobre si un artista en concreto es indie o no.

En teoría, los indies son aquellos que tratan de alejarse de lo popular o mainstream (del finés "que suena bien"), viciados en drogas "pesadas" (jugo de naranja) y que se creen con sus jeans apretados, sus gafas de pasta y sus zapatillas converse pisahuevo. En resumen, son seres iguales, que se visten ridículamente igual, escuchan la misma mierda y encima se las dan de alternativos. Desgraciadamente, la mayoría de artistas que eran considerados indie fracasan en su cometido popularizando lo que hacen, tal como ocurrió antaño con la polka, el gospel o Nokia.

A pesar de lo descrito no son gafapasta. El gafapasta CREE que tu no conoces a sus grupos de música emo (pero salen en la MTV), pero los grupos del indie no son conocidos nunca (a menos de estar tratando un indie con otro) ya que pasan noches en vela en google tratando de que les gusten grupos lo más desconocidos posibles.

Hoy la cosa va de una letra, de este menda....y de su video...no se si se hará famosillo o no con la canción que tiene mucha miga y es pretenciosa.....hace un mes que vi este video y ya me pareció curioso por la letra...el otro día me bajé la song y no me la puedo quitar de la cabeza...ejejej que este tío me diga eso de que "The Clash as "just a band" (and Radiohead, and Oasis, and The Beatles,and The Cure, and The Smiths... etcetera...) pues me toca las narices, jeejejejj y a la vez me parece graciosooo y penosoo. Pues es verdad son solo bandas, jejee pero que bandas...A mi me da que este inglesito de hip-hop y música electónica...va a pegar y hasta la vamos a bailar...

Más cosas de la canción pues como he dicho tiene miga...tanto en lo religioso, como en lo político o social. Nada más empezar hace referencia a los mandamientos cuando dice "Thou shalt not steal" que viene a ser...No Robarás...jeejje el tío ya empieza cañero, y así se pasa toda la canción ...cuando dice : "Thou Shalt not think any male over the age of 30 that plays with a child that is not their own is a paedophile. Some people are just nice." .Conflictivo, eh....provocativo...y al final triunfa..,no? O cuando dice "thou shalt not buy Coca-Cola products, thou shalt not buy Nestle products” –o "thou shalt not wish your girlfriend was a freak like me” y quien no es raro hoy en día, jeejej y esto es verdad como un templo..."Thou shalt not stop liking a band just because they have become popular"

BJöRK- VOLTA y VIDEO EARTH INTRUDERS

Después de su álbum "Medula" en el 2004, la islandesa e innovadora Bjork vuelve con su séptimo álbum que saldrá a la venta el 7 de mayo y bajo el nombre de "Volta". Este álbum está escrito y producido integramente por ella.

De todas las colaboraciones con distintos músicos en "Volta", sin duda alguna una de las más interesantes ha sido con Antony Hegarty (Antony And The Johnsons) con el que canta dos temas. Y si no recuerdo mal lo veremos este veranito en el FIB. Björk actuará en España también en julio. Pero Irá al FIB o al SUMMERCASE? Lo suyo sería ir al FIB!!! y tocar el mismo día que Antony...pero igual nos quedamos con las ganas.

INTERPOL: PIONEER y HEINRICH MANEUVER

El tercer disco de Interpol saldrá a la venta el 4 de junio por Capitol Records y producido por Rich Costey (Muse en "Absolution" y Black Holes and Revelations", y Franz Ferdinand en "You Could Have It So Much Better"). De momento no se sabe con certeza cual sera el título del álbum.

Son una banda de Rothwell cerca de Leeds que se formaron en el 2002. Según NME:

"the band most likely to leap to the main stage in 2007”

Actuarán este verano en el SUMMERCASE FESTIVAL.

En el 2006 fueron teloneros de "Dirty Pretty Things" y de "Kaiser Chiefs".

Su álbum debut "Wait for me" se grabó el pasado otoño y fue editado bajo el sello "Dance To The Radio". Fue producido por Will Jackson (Kaiser Chiefs / Embrace) y mezclado por Cenzo Townshend (Snow Patrol / Kaiser Chiefs / Bloc Party) y Steve Harris (The Automatic / U2. Salió en Internet el 11 de abril, pero a la venta saldrá el 28 de mayo.

'Heartland' es el tercer album de Electro-pop del trio Client. 'Heartland' colabora con (Charlatans) y Simon Tong (Gorillaz), y aparecen temas inspirados en el hit de la banda punk inglesa The Adam And The Ants en 'Xerox Machine' y 'Lights Go Out'.

MANIC STREETS PREACHERS: SEND AWAY THE TIGERS

MANIC STREET PREACHERS, es sin duda alguna uno de mis grupos favoritos y el 28 de mayo estos galeses sacarán su octavo álbum: SEND AWAY THE TIGERS” y cuantas cosas he descubierto de este álbum, que desconocía.

El título viene por un dicho que Tony Hancock (comediante inglés y figura importante en la radio y en la televisión en la Inglaterra de los años 50 y 60) solía decirlo cuando quería beber y viene a ser algo así como: “Los demonios están viniendo…”, también el título hace referencia al declive de Tony Blair y la liberación de los animales del zoológico de Bagdad que está también presente.

En cuanto a las canciones, la cación “Rendition” está basada en la película de Jack Lemmon “Missing” y mezclada con la CIA como acto de rendición. La cantante de The Cardigans, Nina, aparece en la canción: YOUR LOVE ALONE IS NOT ALONE y la canción “Autumn Song” refleja cosas acerca del enamoramiento.

Este álbum fue mezclado en California por Chris Lord-alge (Green Day, My Chemical Romance) y en él vuelven a inspirarse en grupos como The Clash y Sex Pistols.

NUEVO ALBUM DE OCEAN COLOUR SCENE

Los ingleses de Birmingham OCEAN COLOUR SCENE, sin duda alguna es una de las clásicas bandas de rock de la escena del Brit-Pop, el 30 de abril sacarán a la venta su nuevo álbum que se llama "ON THE LEYLINE" editado con el sello discográfico "Moseley Shoals Records" y producido por Woodbine Studios, por John Rivers.

Este álbum está compuesto de 13 canciones y entre ellas se incluye un tema "For Dancers Only" de Paul Weller. Su primer single " I TOLD YOU SO" tendremos que esperar hasta el 16 de abril que es cuando estará en el mercado.

BSO DE SPIDERMAN 3

El principal tema de la BSO de la película de SPIDERMAN 3, que será un estreno mundial el 4 de mayo , vendrá de la mano de los escoceses SNOW PATROL con el tema SIGNAL FIRE.

De momento sabemos que Peter Parker revelará su lado más oscuro y vengativo. En esta entrega el trabajo por ordenador volverá a ser crucial y será objeto de comentarios.
